How to hack managers and clients

Without good soft skills* on the team, most projects can and will go off the tracks due to poorly set expectations, lack of communication, incomplete requirements gathering, etc.

This session will be dedicated to providing tips and tricks for avoiding miscues that can cost you financially and damage your reputation. We will discuss topics like personality profiling, flag raising, RFP dodging, estimate padding, invoice timing, and term sheet wrangling.

Ethan Worrel has been managing projects, clients, and developers for the last 7+ years since founding ENTERMEDIA in Austin, TX. He’s a subject matter expert on the importance of soft skills after having made all of these mistakes at one point or another.

Ethan also has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

* Soft Skills Defined (From Wikipedia): Soft skills are personal attributes that enhance an individual’s interactions, job performance and career prospects. Unlike hard skills, which are about a person’s skill set and ability to perform a certain type of task or activity, soft skills are interpersonal and broadly applicable.
