Hey, y'all!
DrupalCamp Austin is an immersive learning experience for all levels.
Its not a question of IF you will manage your projects, if you are to survive then you simply have to… its a question of HOW.
Most developers have some type of “system” for managing projects: unfuddle, basecamp, pivotal tracker, google docs… a list of to-dos written on a napkin… But, there are pros and cons with each solution. Some are too complex, some are too simple, and most all require you to adjust yourself to fit their tool.
Being Drupal-heads, many developers have opted to create their own solutions from a variety of resources : OpenAtrium, Case Tracker, Project, etc. While all of these amazing contributions offer a solid platform for building your custom solution, they also can be difficult to customize.
They also seem to be missing a vital component in any real world project management system - time tracking and invoicing! Getting the job done it one thing, but getting PAID is really important.
In this session, I will be demonstrating the workflow and process for managing a project using Gexer PM, a feature based on my own personal project management system. Its using mostly “stock” contrib modules (views, og, comment driven, purl, spaces, time tracker) with just a dash of custom code to smooth out a few rough edges.
I’ve been successfully using this system for about a year, and its saved my sanity several times. I’ve also started using it on larger projects to include clients in the process.
Benefits include:
The best part is that because its a feature, you can customize it to your hearts content!
Come check it out and learn how Gexer PM can streamline your project management!
